Itʼs been 4 years, 19 days since we were blessed with a masterpiece from machala aka Wizkid. Iʼm not talking about his albums nah those were great. Iʼm talking about SOUNDMAN. This ep might be a way for Big Wiz to tell us that he would be on tour or and no album for a while which he did before, so letʼs dive right into it.

Unlike 4 years ago which sound-man vol 1 was released as a surprise ep. This time, Wizkid gave us the privilege to know who would be on the ep which consist of 4 tracks (Olulufe ft wande coal, Energy, Diamonds, IKD ft Zlatan Ibile).

These 4 tracks are a masterpiece. Each sound with its own unique touch and sound. From IDK ft Zlatan which he recorded after losing his mom and Zlatan whom was mourning the lost a friend at that moment but that did not stop them both in adding every touch of magic in that track.

He also did not forget to give us top notch talents like he did with Blaq Jerzee in vol.1 leaving us with Primebeatz genius to lip sync to when its on the radio and hum when working and itʼs blasting up on our beat box. From the amapiano sound in Oloufe to afrobeat sound in Energy and Diamonds, heavenly. Primebeatz had an assignment and he delivered Wande Coal has a thing to with leaving a sound on our lips every year and he did not disappoint in Oloufe the melody was incredible. I really canʼt wait to see what the our Djʼs have installed for us in the clubs. That amapiaano sound was so much genius from both artists.

SOUNDMAN did not fail to stir up controversy like every major artistsʼ projects. Mostly people comparing S2 to SOUNDMAN Vol. 1. To the audience the ep wasnʼt bad they werenʼt just satisfied with the fact that itʼs a 4 track ep and thereʼs a void to fill after the listen. Besides that the audience love every single thing about it.

An ep for the holidays. Something to be talked less about and played more

Right now, this writer is writing this listening to Tyler the creatorʼs “Call me when you get lost”.
