18-year-old Victony introduced fans of Afropop into his world using his debut project "Saturn", a collaboration extended play with MainLandBlockParty. On the six tracks body of work, the Outlaw King as he is popularly referred to by his fans traversed across different genres proving his versatility and genius in terms of musicality. In songs like "More" and "Maria ft Falz" it is obvious that the Soweto crooner blended elements of Pop, RnB coupled with a razor sharp rap by Falz which went hand in hand with Victony's saccharine voice. Trap seemed to be the inspiration behind the creation of "Space & Time" and "87 Club" but the artist still sang soulfully as if painting a masterpiece using different colours.
After surviving a fatal accident in 2021 that claimed the life of his dear friend Doyin and left him unable to walk for many months, Victony marked his breakout the following year, with his Sophomore EP "Outlaw" infused with sonically soothing sounds. "Apollo" and "Kolomental" formed the early pairs of singles while “Soweto" went on to become a smash hit, he also became more known for his global crossover hit "Soweto (Remix)" featuring Don Toliver and Rema. The EP was influenced by a Bop and upbeat vibe, championed with the use of amapiano, but the artist still carried his versatile nature and unique style, he was already on the path of his own sound
Earlier this year word about his debut album began spreading.
